Enhanced ONLINE status in Tracker Management

We've released improvements to how our tracker dashboard displays the online status, providing clearer insights into device connectivity. This update brings more accurate information at a glance.

Online Status Display:

The tracker management now shows the time since the GPS trackers has opened a socket connection to our server (online), or conversely, since the socket has been closed (offline).

Removal of "Updated" Column:

Based on your valuable feedback, we have removed the "Updated" column as it was found to be misleading. Instead, we've replaced it with the new "Last Message" column, which displays the time of the last message received from the device. This provides more accurate and relevant information regarding device activity.

Enhanced Activation Flexibility for Your Events

We're excited to announce improvements to the activation process for your events on Racemap, offering greater flexibility and transparency in managing live tracking. Our new activation revolves around the event cycle to meet your specific needs.

Understanding the Basics: Event Cycle

The activation now aligns with the event cycle, covering periods when your event is live, as determined by the specified start and end times. At the beginning of each cycle charges for maps & used add-ons apply.

Tailored to your event times

Whether your event starts in one year, spans a single period, or is reused with pauses, our new activation seamlessly adapts to your requirements:

  • When your event becomes live (indicated by the start time), then the first cycle starts, incurring a charge for the map & used add-ons.
  • If your event duration exceeds the cycle length, a new cycle starts, incurring an additional charge.
  • Once your event ends (indicated by the end time), no further charges are incurred after the last cycle.
  • If you want to use your event again, simply reactivate the event, with no charges during the pause period.

What does this mean for you?

  • Charges for the map & used add-ons only incur for event cycles, allowing you to activate events well in advance without unnecessary costs.
  • Flexibility to adjust start & end times for upcoming events as needed.
  • Enjoy peace of mind knowing that during pause periods, there are no charges for maps & add-ons.

Additional Benefits!

  • Deeper Insights: Gain comprehensive insights into consumption details for each event, including existing charges and potential further charges based on current event time settings.

  • Enhanced Event Status Visibility: Keep track of your event status with new badges indicating whether it's a TRIAL, ACTIVE, or ARCHIVED, as well as whether it's UPCOMING, LIVE, or FINISHED.
  • Free Trials: Each event comes with a free trial, allowing you to test our tracking platform and settings at any time, for any duration. You have the option to run multiple trials simultaneously, activating only when you're convinced about the solution. Start your trail here: https://racemap.com/admin/events/new

QR codes for tracking keys

We're thrilled to introduce a smart enhancement to our tracking keys: QR code. Tracking keys seamlessly connect your participants' Racemap App (or your custom tracking app) for live tracking at a specific event with ease. And you can take advantage of our key solution through QR codes.

To further simplify and automate your processes when providing keys, we've empowered our platform to automatically generate QR codes for our keys. This feature allows you to quickly generate QR codes for multiple keys, and directly integrate the codes in your processes.

How to Generate QR Codes

To generate QR codes for your keys, simply use the following URL format:

https://racemap.com/api/starters/actions/generate_key_qrcode?key=YYYYYY

Replace YYYYYY in the URL with the keys for which you want to generate the QR code. That simple.

Enhanced column management in tracker dashboard

The latest update of our tracker management gives you greater control and insight into your GPS trackers. You now can show and hide columns independently in both list sections. Also, we added the new firmware column, which is specifically designed for Queclink GL3xx devices.

Tailor your tracker management to your specific needs. Whether you're preparing devices before a race, monitoring devices during an event, or maintaining devices in the off-season, this flexibility ensures you can focus on the information that matters most for your current use case.

In combination with the auto-request of device settings, you have effortless insights into your GPS trackers. When a Queclink GL3xx GPS tracker establishes a new port with our server, we automatically request relevant device settings, including:

  • Firmware version,
  • ICCID of the inserted SIM card,
  • None movement detection,
  • Send interval (movement and none movement),
  • Report interval (movement and none movement) and
  • GPS mode.

Find more information about managing many GPS devices in our documentation: https://docs.racemap.com/tracker-management

We're excited to hear about your experiences with these new features. Your feedback is invaluable as we continue to refine and improve the Racemap platform.

Enhanced predictive live tracking with jumping dots

We released powerful enhancements for our predictive live tracking, designed to elevate your race visualization experience. Our predictive tracking utilizes sporadic reads from your timing system for a smooth and realistic live visualization of your races.

Key Feature: Adaptive Dot Jump Back

The last update enables our interactive tracking map to let the dots jump to a different location. If the deviation of the dot with the current read of the participant is too big this difference now can be corrected and the dot jumps back or onward to the location of the detection. This approach increases the quality of our prediction and ensures a more accurate representation of participant movements.

Seamless Optimization

You can now adjust all parameters impacting the quality of predictive live tracking in the advanced settings of your tracking map. This empowers you to fine-tune your settings for optimal performance tailored to your specific event requirements.

Effortless Optimization Process:

Fine-tune your settings with precision and confidence, ensuring a flawless race visualization experience for your participants and spectators alike.

  1. Real-Time Recalculation: Our prediction engine is highly performant, recalculating all data within seconds based on your adjusted settings even during a running event.
  2. Utilize Old Prediction Events: Optimize your settings of upcoming predictive tracking by analyzing past prediction events (from your event library) and optimize parameters afterward. You can instantly see the impact as if it were live, without the hassle of replaying the event.
