Pengsent FM03E GPS Tracker

We integrated the Pengsent FM03E GPS Tracker into our tracking platform. You can now use this tracker type for live tracking on Racemap.

Check the list of various devices that protocol is supported in Racemap: https://docs.racemap.com/hardware-for-live-tracking

Schedule end time for each tracker message

To increase your flexibility when applying GPS trackers at sports events we developed the "close after"-parameter for messages. Now, there are three options on how the message interacts with the device which is remotely connected to our tracker management (https://racemap.com/admin/trackers/).

  • Before "planned at"-time the message is not sent to the device.
  • Within "planned at"- and "close after"-time the message is sent to the device, as early as the device is connected to the tracker management.
  • The message that can't be sent until "close after" becomes inactive (timeout) and won't be sent anymore. The new parameter for messages prevents unintentional "shut down"-commands that could not be sent in time.

Track chart shows delays of location data

The most common data loss while sports live tracking occurs in data transfer (not in GPS connection). For that reason, providers of a sports tracking service require a quick overview of possible connectivity issues of their GPS devices. Users of our tracking platform asked for a visualization of the reception quality and we developed Track Chart.

Track Chart is an interactive tool for detailed insights into the location data of a specific GPS tracker. Get a feeling of this feature and test the sample with real data: https://racemap.com/admin/track/860201060071837?startDate=2023-08-17T19:00:00&endDate=2023-08-20T02:00:00&outageDuration=180

Track Chart shows every single location of a specific device with the recorded- and received time. With this diagram, you easily detect delays like when the tracking unit sends packages from memory, which can indicate problems in mobile reception.

You access the track chart of a specific device from the participants' list of your event.

Improved zoom behavior when editing tracks

We made editing long tracks for endurance cycling races like TORTOUR Ultracycling with 1,000+ km & 50,000+ track points way more handy. The map editor now prevents unintentional zoom reactions when selecting multiple track points. Additionally, a new toolbox provides actions for selected elements.

These enhancements increase your speed when creating live tracking and you'll appreciate these features when quick adjustments are needed during the event.

Queclink GL300 series: shut down message, device settings

Our tracking platform now evaluates more parameters of Queclink's GPS devices of the GL300 series (GL300, GL310, GL320). This update improves insight into units of Queclink's GL3XX versions and makes these devices even more reliable for live-tracking sports events.

Activate tracker events such as power off, power on, SOS, crash, start charging, stop charging, and temperature with this custom massage:
+GTCFG=gl320m,,,,,,,003F,,,0FFF,,,,,,,,,,,,,,FFFF

gl300m is the set password and needs to be adjusted possibly.

The tracker dashboard processes "shut down"-messages, that are triggered either from manual the power button or the GPS tracker shuts down automatically due to battery state. The alerts in the safety monitor provide the message of when a device is shut down.

When requesting device settings the tracker management updates the settings report, which now provides new parameters:

  • Report Mode
  • Corner
  • Non-Movement Report Mode
  • enterMovementByCmd
  • Report begin time
  • Report end time
  • Report distance
  • Report mileage

Error feedback in generic import

The generic import now provides a detailed error description if it fails for specific entries. Read all about flexibly import & synchronize participants' & devices' information through the generic import feature: https://docs.racemap.com/api-import-and-export-data/import-basics/metadata-api

Listview all events

Customers asked for an overview of all their tracking maps. Especially Racemap accounts with 20+ sports events each year and organizations that summarize multiple users have this need.

We now added a convenient event overview to our live-tracking platform. We know from our own experience that the event table speeds up the workflow and helps to scale the tracking service. Open your event dashboard with this link (https://racemap.com/admin/events/manage) or the list button.

Find relevant parameters of your tracking maps in one dashboard. You can filter the list for specific parameters such as

  • Type of the event,
  • Visibility,
  • Activation status,
  • Running time,
  • Number of participants and
  • Activated add-ons (leaderboard, data API, prediction, monitor, sponsor logo)

When representing multiple users you can even filter this list for one of your users.

Forwarding detections for predictive live tracking

From now on we keep a TCP socket open that you can use to export data from your timing system to Racemap. Just contact us, when you have forwarded your data to our platform. We will check the format and structure of your data and enable predictive live tracking for your timing solution.

Firmware update OTA queclink GL300 & GL320

You can now use our tracker management to update the firmware of queclink's GL300 & GL320 GPS trackers over the air. This way you save time maintaining your tracking devices as there is no physical connection needed to the management tool and you can update multiple devices at the same time.

Use the below custom commands:

GL300MG FW 14.02

AT+GTUPD=gl300m,0,1,10,0,,,http://racemap.s3.amazonaws.com/sport-tracker/firmware_queclink/GL300M/GL300M_1713_R20A14V02.enc,,0,,,FFFF$

GL320MG FW 10.01

AT+GTUPD=gl320m,0,1,10,0,,,http://racemap.s3.amazonaws.com/sport-tracker/firmware_queclink/GL320M/GL320M_B7K1_R01A10V01.enc,,0,,,FFFF$

Read all about the Racemap management dashboard for multiple GPS trackers in our documentation: https://docs.racemap.com/hardware-for-live-tracking/trackermanagement

For the GL320, you can initialize the configuration using the 'Update Settings' message. You can use either the recommended Racemap settings file or your own hosted configuration file. URL of Racemap configuration file:

Adjust "no movement"-alert

You can now adjust the sensitivity of the "no movement"-alert for the monitor. Set the duration when the alert is triggered or turn the alert off when it is not relevant to your event.
