UI Updates and Safemap Improvements

Our latest release is focused on one thing: less friction. From a more consistent interface across the platform to sharper tools for managing your Safemap — here's what's new.

Consistent panel UI across the platform

The panel for map settings and tracker management have been migrated to Ant Design — the same UI system used across the rest of RACEMAP. The interface is now visually consistent throughout, making navigation more intuitive wherever you work.

Preview of sidebar and filter tag settings

Configure the sidebar — and see it live in the preview! Visualization settings now provides a sidebar preview of your tracking map as you configure it. You can define the order of filter tag categories in the sidebar via drag and drop, and the preview shows your changes in real time — no guesswork before publishing.

Share Safemap access without admin overhead

We have added "Load Safemap without login" to the Advanced settings of Safemap. Any event creator can enable it directly — no admin rights needed. Sharing safety monitoring responsibility during a race just got simpler.

Safemap: improved participant interaction on the map

Navigate Safemap with more precision. Participant interaction on the map is now more responsive and intuitive. Clicking a dot in the map now selects the participant, hovering shows their bib number with a pointer cursor, and hovering a participant in the starter or alerts list highlights their position on the map — keeping the list and map in sync as you monitor your race.

All information about Safemap: https://docs.racemap.com/live-tracking/safemap

These updates are live now. As always, if something isn't working the way you expect or you have feedback, reach out — we're listening.

Product Updates

Leaderboard: Smarter & More Customizable

We've expanded our leaderboard solution with new customization options and improved logic to support more complex event formats.

Improved start detection

The leaderboard now better identifies the actual start of a race when start and finish locations are geographically close but connected by a long course loop. This improves ranking accuracy for lap-based and looped events.

Custom leaderboard branding

You can now set the leaderboard header color directly within the settings, making it easier to align leaderboards with event branding and sponsor requirements.

Built-in leaderboard preview

We've added a leaderboard preview in the configurator, to immediately verify appearance and settings before publishing changes. This reduces setup time and helps avoid configuration errors during event preparation.

All about the RACEMAP leaderboard add-on in our documentation:
https://docs.racemap.com/live-tracking/gps-timing

Auto-pause API to prevent unnecessary costs

To help customers better manage API usage and operational costs, the Data API add-on now automatically deactivates after an event has concluded.

How it works:

  • The system automatically pauses the Data API after the first API request that occurs more than two hours after the event end time.
  • Users can resume the API at any time if continued access is required.

This change helps prevent unintended API consumption and unexpected costs while maintaining full flexibility for customers who need extended access.

More current API Improvements

Our current API continues to evolve as a reliable data source for broadcasters, media teams, event organizers, and technology partners.

AI-assisted development becomes common. An increasing number of teams use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or GitHub Copilot to rapidly create custom dashboards, reporting tools, and event-specific applications. Our current API is the stable, structured, and well-documented data foundation for such custom solutions.

Whether you're building a live race dashboard, an operations monitor, a broadcast control panel, or automated reporting workflows, you can use AI assistants together with our documentation to generate applications tailored to your specific requirements—while relying on verified real-time race data from RACEMAP.

We've enhanced the current API with reliability, analysis capabilities, and consistency.

Highlights:

  • New routing and expanded test coverage for the Current API Analyser.
  • Consistent formatting of units, pace values, and receive-gap information.
  • Improved speed and movement calculations within backend processing.
  • Additional test coverage and internal quality improvements.

Clearer Tracker Management for Queclink GL3xx Devices

We've improved the Tracker Manager interface to make device communication settings easier to understand and operate.

Improved ACK visibility

The tracker dashboard previously exposed two different acknowledgement concepts ("Cl-ACK" and "Server ACK") that could be difficult to distinguish during troubleshooting and device configuration. These improvements help operations teams diagnose communication issues faster and manage Queclink GL3xx GPS tracker with greater confidence.

The improved interface now includes:

  • Context-sensitive explanations directly within the UI.
  • Clearer descriptions for tracker communication settings.
  • Improved display and sorting behavior for Server ACK states.
  • Better support for identifying unknown versus disabled acknowledgement states.

Learn more about Tracker Management in our documentation:
https://docs.racemap.com/tracker-management

Faster Synchronization Across the Platform

To improve data freshness and operational responsiveness, we adjusted platform synchronization intervals.

  • Starter synchronization now runs every one minute (instead of every five minutes).
  • The default player aut-reload interval has been standardized to one minute, also.

These adjustments provide faster updates while maintaining efficient system performance.

Release update: More clarity, control and API improvements

Our latest update focuses on making the RACEMAP tracking platform more intuitive, consistent, and technically robust. Here’s what’s new:

📋 Tracker management: Clear connectivity state

We’ve integrated our SIM provider data directly into the tracker management and show connectivity through two separate indicators:

  • CON column: Socket connectivity of the GPS tracker with the RACEMAP server
  • NET column: Network registration of our SIM cards

Important: NET is not transmitted by the GPS tracker itself—it comes directly from our SIM provider, adding redundancy. This is especially useful when a device cannot establish a socket connection, but the GSM modem is still registered in the network. In such cases, the tracker can still be reached via SMS (supported in RACEMAP tracker management).

This removes ambiguity and makes diagnosing GPS tracker status much more straightforward.

Additional improvements:

  • New dedicated NET column
  • Simplified CON to show socket status only
  • Replaced the online icon with a server icon for clarity
  • Removed the cell tower icon from signal strength
  • Improved column order and overall table consistency

Read all about our dashboard to work with many GPS trackers in our documentation: https://docs.racemap.com/tracker-management

🔄 Player reload functionality (auto & manual)

Keeping event data in the tracking map up-to-date is now much smoother—whether it’s DSQ dots disappearing or participant colors updating automatically. Activate the auto-reload feature in the visualization settings of your events.

Auto-reload (default ON) refreshes:

  • Participants, tracks, and colors
  • Starter and track names
  • POIs and metadata

Reload button is shown in the tracking map when auto-reload is disabled

Rendering improvements in the interactive race visualization:

  • Viewport position is preserved after reload
  • More accurate visual updates via sprite hashing

This feature ensures your player reflects real-time changes without requiring a page refresh.

⚙️ Current API improvements

We’ve continued refining the current API to improve accuracy, performance, reliability, and transparency. It now handles sparse data scenarios much better—such as endurance events with infrequent position updates every five minutes—making it an even more powerful tool for video production teams.

Core updates:

  • More reliable speed calculation, especially with limited or missing geopoints
  • Fixed inconsistencies in gap and average calculations
  • Improved handling of shadow tracks
  • Added extrapolated parameters including gap support
  • Introduced participantId-based gap queries for unified comparisons
  • Simplified query parameters introducing Average Speed Window and Result Time

Read more in our documentation, including live data samples: https://docs.racemap.com/api/current

If you’d like to test the latest API improvements with real event data from your RACEMAP library, reach out. We set up a 24/7 live event based on your real data for hands-on testing.

🌍 Extended language support

The RACEMAP tracking app and white-label apps now also support:

  • 🇵🇱 Polish
  • 🇹🇷 Turkish

Track Style Customization, Safemap Gaps, Tracker Config Updates

Track Style Customization

Live tracking with multiple tracks is now more flexible and easier to read for spectators. In the map settings, you can adjust both line width and opacity of each track separately, giving full control over how they appear in the visualization.

We also replaced the previous color picker library with the Ant Design color picker, unifying track styles across the system for a cleaner, consistent look.

Track Chart in Safemap: Visual Breaks for Gaps

The track chart in Safemap previously connected all time gaps in GPS data with a line, implying continuous movement that didn’t exist. Now, lines are removed where data is missing, showing tracker data more clear.

Tracker Management: Configuration Update Progress

Tracker management now records the configuration update process in the message history, giving you more confidence when adjusting tracking configurations across devices to meet specific event requirements. Each configuration change is timestamped and displayed in the tracker message history, making troubleshooting easier if updates fail.
