Exciting Enhancements in RACEMAP Tracking Platform

We’re excited to introduce several updates designed to improve your RACEMAP experience, enhance live tracking reception, increase the safety and reliability of your sports tracking service for greater peace of mind.

1. Tag and Collection Sharing

You can now share a tag or a collection of specific devices with another user, making teamwork during device preparation for events much easier. Sharing tags simplifies coordination across multiple accounts while keeping access rights secure. To grant access as an editor or borrower, you must explicitly assign permissions for the shared trackers.

2. Tracker Notes

In the Tracker Management > Infos tab of the GPS tracker, you can now add notes for individual devices. This feature helps you document key details and enhances overall device organization.

3. Improved Support for Queclink GL310 and GL320

For Queclink GL310 and GL320 devices with the latest firmware, we’ve added operator blacklist information. This enhancement helps you identify potential reception restrictions when using devices across different countries.

  • The Tracker Dashboard analyzes whether specific operators are blacklisted.
  • The feature provides the MCC (Mobile Country Code) and MNC (Mobile Network Code) of blacklisted operators.
  • Additionally, it displays the operator name and country, offering greater clarity and actionable insights.

New Parameters for Device Location on Shadowtrack

Tobias Däubner from [db]netsoft asked for additional parameters in our API to be able to always show the devices on the racecourse - rather than near it ;-)

We've now added two parameters to our current API:

lngSt and latSt – The current longitude and latitude of the device, precisely pinned on the shadowtrack. Our algorithm processes raw location data and projects it onto the shadowtrack.

Explore all available parameters in the RACEMAP API documentation: https://docs.racemap.com/data-api/current.

Test Data Now Visible in the Prediction Dashboard

New users of predictive live tracking like to check and validate settings before a race to ensure everything runs smoothly. We’ve now enabled test data visibility in the Prediction dashboard > Reads tab.

Like if you're using RACE RESULT 12, you can run a race simulation while forwarding data to RACEMAP and see the simulated data in real-time.

To keep real detections clean, test data is only displayed when the “Show Test Data” switch is enabled. This update helps you fine-tune your setup with confidence before race day. Try it out!

Exciting Enhancements in our latest Release

We’re excited to introduce new enhancements that make our tracking platform even more powerful and user-friendly for you. Here’s what’s new:

1. Seamless Device Onboarding

Adding new devices to the tracker dashboard is now faster & easier! You can directly assign them to an existing tag or collection - or create a new one instantly. This improvement streamlines onboarding your new GPS trackers and helps you easily manage the new alongside existing devices.

Add GPS Trackers

2. New Integrations Tab

The new Integrations tab introduces support for RACE RESULT event IDs. With this enhancement, you can:

  • Import and synchronize participants' data via simple API effortlessly.
  • Embed RACE RESULT leaderboards directly.
  • Seamlessly integrate online registration.

3. Enhanced Device Management

Managing devices within tags and collections is now more intuitive, simplifying your daily operations.

4. Optimized Predictive Live Tracking

Our upgraded predictive live tracking algorithm delivers greater accuracy by mapping each detection to a single location within a defined range. This reduces unnecessary mappings while still supporting multiple laps or shadowtrack segments when needed. The first screenshot highlights the impact of the improved filter on reducing mapped locations.

SOS settings column added

We’ve introduced new features and improvements to ensure better safety for your participants during events.

RACEMAP Safety Monitor sends SOS- and crash alert emails to tracking map editors and additional recipients you’ve specified. To enable the SOS feature, ensure the functional button of Queclink GL3xx devices is activated.

New Functional Button Column: The Tracker Management now includes a dedicated column that shows whether the functional button on your Queclink GL3xx devices is enabled. This helps you easily spot devices with unintentionally disabled SOS buttons, ensuring all devices are event-ready.

Additionally, we’ve added options to customize the table in Tracker Management, allowing you to display additional tracker settings, such as:

  • Info report
  • Heartbeat
  • Report interval
  • And many more!

These options make it easy to compare & verify that your trackers are set up correctly according to your event requirements.

For more information on RACEMAP Safety Monitor, visit our documentation https://docs.racemap.com/how-to-use-live-tracking/monitor.

New Command for Blacklisting Network Operators (Queclink GL320)

We’re excited to announce a new feature for Queclink GL320 (and GL310) devices: The ability to blacklist specific network operators from the tracker management (https://racemap.com/admin/trackers). This update addresses reception issues caused by SIM cards or their contracted providers. When a network operator is blacklisted, the modem will no longer attempt to connect to that operator.

This feature is especially useful in scenarios where a modem connects to a network but cannot transmit data through it.

Who Is This For?
This command is for users who are experienced with Queclink GL320 devices, the configuration of their SIM cards, and tracker management.

Key Information:

  • Reception Issues Across Borders: Many users have reported connectivity issues, particularly when using GPS trackers in multiple countries.
  • Firmware Update Required: The latest firmware for GL320 (R01A11V14) and GL310 (R00A11V05) devices introduces the blacklisting feature. Ensure your devices are updated to the latest version. Step-by-step instructions are available in our documentation: https://docs.racemap.com/hardware-for-live-tracking/maintain
  • Use With Caution: This feature should only be used when you are certain that a specific network operator is causing connectivity issues.

New Features for Enhanced Tracker Management

Our latest update brings robust enhancements to our Tracker Management, focusing on usability, error prevention & scalability when managing large numbers of GPS trackers. These features streamline your workflow & boost productivity.

"LAST MESSAGE" & "LAST DATA" Columns: To clarify device communication, we’ve introduced two distinct columns, that help to error prevention for smoother device management.

  • LAST MESSAGE - Displays the time since RACEMAP last sent or attempted to send a message to the device.
  • LAST DATA - Shows the time since RACEMAP received the latest data from the device, whether it’s a geolocation, heartbeat, or another message type.

"REPORT DISTANCE" Column: Advanced users can now use the new REPORT DISTANCE column to verify if configuration updates have reached the device, offering greater control over device synchronization.

Batch Counters & Direct Messaging: Quickly see the number of active filters & highlighted devices with new batch counters. You can also send messages directly to highlighted devices from both the filtered & selected devices tables, making large-scale device management faster & more efficient.

Power Key Settings: You now easily check the status of the power button - whether it’s active or disabled - directly in the device settings tab. The device settings are automatically retrieved when the GPS tracker establishes a TCP connection with our server, ensuring automatically up-to-date status visibility without manual input.

These updates help you manage devices more effectively, reduce errors, and scale effortlessly. Try them today and experience the enhanced efficiency!
