Find it, share it, track it

Signing up on RACEMAP, and configuring GPS trackers come with fewer dead ends. Spend less time setting up and more time running your sports live tracking.

What's new

Choose your own slug

Many of you were asking for this feature. You can now edit the web address (the "slug") of your activated event. Use this feature in the basic settings, under Provide event information, with a preview of the URL. Old addresses keep working: anyone who opens a previous link to the tracking map, elevation chart, or leaderboard lands on the current one. This means you can rename "city-run-2" to "city-run-2026" without breaking previous links in newsletters you already sent.

If one of your other events is already running on the URL, you can take it, and that event gets back the previous address. The new Choose the event slug page walks you through it.

See where your viewers come from

The analytics now show "Top sources" and "Top countries" for views (= loads) for each map and leaderboard. You can see whether watcher came from a specific website, social post, newsletter link with a utm_source, or typed the slug directly. Both tables provide data for the set time range. The CSV export has new source and country columns. No IP addresses are stored. Views before this release show as "unknown".

The map stays where you zoomed it

In live, the interactive map no longer centers the full shadow track when the event reloads in the background. This issue happened when the event settings were saved during the race.

No event group crashes anymore

In live, single maps shown in an event group no longer crash when the participant list of one of its events changes. Before, removing a participant could break the map with an "out of bounds" error, or briefly move markers of the next event to the wrong place.

Model multi-sport races more realisticly

Here comes a big improvement for your predictive live tracking. You now set transitions on the shadow track. A transition is a point at which a new sport begins, each with its own minimum, maximum, and reset speed for the following segment. A triathlon gets one speed profile for swimming, cycling, and running segments. The speed settings are initialized on the transitions.

  • Reads are checked against the slowest (= minimum speed) and fastest (= maximum speed) progression of the segment.
  • Analyse draws these limits and the ideal pace, and shows rejected reads where they were actually detected on the track.
  • For timing systems without GPS, you now place readers on the map as reader locations.
  • The Readers tab shows each reader's latest read and its location history.
  • Map, chart, and table highlight each other.

The reworked algorithm and other timing systems pages explain the new setup.

Configure Teltonika trackers without a laptop cable

The Tracker Management now supports two new device types. You can send settings to the new Teltonika ATC700 and TMT250 GPS trackers directly from our platform, the same comfort you already know for Queclink devices. Prepared commands: such as record and send intervals, (no)-movement mode, status- & info requests, and restart. The tracker's reply appears next to each command.

Every time a Teltonika tracker connects with RACEMAP tracker management, it reports its current settings, so RACEMAP always shows what the device actually uses. For all tracker types, waiting commands now go out as soon as a tracker logs in, so short connections still pick them up. See Change settings from RACEMAP for the details.

Every message you sent to a tracker on its timeline

The Tracker Management now provides more insights for debugging the reception. The Connection Chart shows a new messages layer below network. Messages show every command sent to the tracker as a bar, determining the duration from sending to the ACK answer. You can tell at a glance which commands were acknowledged, which needed retries, or which never got an answer, right next to delay, battery, and cell data. Hover over a bar for the outcome ("acknowledged after 2 min"), or click it to see the full payload and timeline.

Spot trackers faster, that have lost GPS fix

In the Tracker Management, a GPS tracker that keeps sending reports without a GPS fix no longer looks healthy. Now, the time of its last location is only updated with a real fix, and the tracker shows as connected. Before, every received report refreshed the time, even though the position was frozen.

Scan sessions that start reliably

Using our Orga App in the Tracker Management, scan sessions are more dependable. You can start a new session after stopping one, without a "Failed to connect" error. A double click on "Start new Session" opens one session, not two. Scans are no longer silently ignored when a session is already connected.

Sign up with a 6-digit code

When you create your free RACEMAP account, the confirmation email now holds a 6-digit code and a verification link. Type the code, or open the link and click once, and you are confirmed and logged in on our tracking platform. No need anymore to log-in again after confirming.

When you sign-up and the confirmation email doesn't arrive, the modal now shows a "Resend code" button. It becomes available again after 60 seconds. The new mail carries the same code as long as that code is still valid, so it doesn't matter which mail you open.

When you reset your password, the verification link now expires after one hour, and only the newest link works. A weak password is rejected without using up the link, so you can try again. After the reset, RACEMAP logs out your account on every other device. If your account was never confirmed, the reset confirms it too.

Know where your payment stands

When you activate an event, the payment dialog now covers every outcome. If a payment failed, you see a warning and can pay again. If a payment is still pending, you see "Payment pending" with a Check again button. If an invoice is still open, a Pay open invoice link lets you pay it without paying twice. Before, all of these cases left the dialog empty.

Clear warning instead of a €0 invoice preview

In your billing dashboard, the monthly payment preview no longer shows "Total €0.00" when VAT can't be calculated. A warning now explains what to fix, usually a missing shipping address. A button takes you to the stripe customer board to provide the missing data for the proper tax calculation.

Search boxes keep every letter

Across the back office, the search boxes no longer lose letters when you type fast. The cursor also stays when you type in the middle of a word. This covers "Search events…" in your Tracking Maps list, the public events page, and the participant search in Safemap.

Find your event even with a typo

In the Tracking App, the event search now tolerates typos, also matches the event's location, and puts the best match first. "wildstrubl" finds Wildstrubel. Results load page by page as users scroll. They get clear feedback when nothing matches or when they are offline.

If a participant types a key they already redeemed, the app lists that event at the top, ready to open.

Participant count

The Participants tab now shows participants connected through the tracking app (or a branded app version) with a phone icon. When the participant sync deletes participants, their keys are released, so participants can register with them again without affecting billing.

No false Power off alarms after a reboot

In Safemap, a GPS tracker you've rebooted from the Tracker Management no longer raises a "Power Off" notification, it shows "Reboot" instead. A power-off message that the tracker stored and sent late also no longer raises an alarm, so your team only sees alarms that matter right now. The Shut down message still raises a notification, as before.

Other changes

  • Large commands to trackers are no longer wrongly treated as failed sends.
  • Admins can download and import several events at once, and saving timing reads is faster.
