Two updates this week: 

• Long-overdue improvement for anyone managing participants' data with tags, and
• Small clarity enhancement in Safemap. 

Smarter Tag Handling in the Participant Table

Managing tags such as "Age group", "Class" or "Status" in the participants' settings meant wrestling with cells and special formats — easy to get wrong, hard to scan for errors. That changes now.

Each category now has its own column. Each column is sortable and filterable — with distribution counts visible in the tag popup so you see at a glance how your participants are spread across categories.

Navigate between cells with TAB or SHIFT+ENTER without leaving the keyboard.

Need to update tags across a large group? Use the new batch action to update tags on multiple participants at once. 

You can also add new tag categories directly in the table via + column to open the tag modal — no detour to settings required. 

Set and preview how your tracking map handles tags by default in the visualization settings. 

Notification Sources in Safemap

Safemap shows two types of notifications: ones generated by the GPS trackers, and ones generated by RACEMAP frontend logic analysing the received location data. Until now, there was no differentiation between these two types — which caused confusion when triaging issues during events.

Each notification now carries an icon with a tooltip that explains where it came from. Small change, big difference when something fires mid-race and you need to act fast.
