Safemap: Less Searching, Faster Action and Smarter Connection Data and Participant Tools

During a live event, every second spent searching for information is a second not spent acting on it. This release tightens the feedback loop — from the map to the data to the tools you use to manage your field.

Spot issues before you go looking

Safemap — participant status markers: Each participant dot now tells you what's happening without a click. The outline color reflects the unresolved state — non-movement, off-track, crash, or SOS. Flagged participants rise above the rest on the map with a thicker outline. Hover any dot to see the start number and inline status icons on the spot.

Filter the list, clean the map

Safemap — filtered participant visibility: Filtering the participant list now updates the map. Filtered-out participants grey out and become unselectable — your attention stays on exactly the group you're monitoring.

  • A participant that gets hidden by a filter change is automatically deselected
  • Clicking an alert always works: if the participant is filtered out, the filters reset so they appear
  • Clicking an alert icon in the list shows only that participant's alerts — two unresolved notifications means you see exactly those two

Set up safety zones in bulk

Safemap — protected zone batch actions: Setting up protected zones for an event used to mean configuring each one individually. Batch actions are now available, so you can configure multiple zones at once.

Read connection data without squinting

Connection chart — improved layout: Cell and network info now lives in its own lane below the connection chart. Labels no longer collide with data points — the chart is readable at a glance. Your filter and display settings are saved and restored when you reload the page. A network filter and loading indicators are included.

All information about the connection chart: https://docs.racemap.com/gps-devices/debugging#connection-chart

Network data in the correct order

Tracker Management — network info and CON column: The Network tab now shows fields in a consistent order — Carrier Name, Carrier Country, Radio Technology — with empty values removed. The connection chart link sits next to the online/offline icon in the CON column, one less place to look.

Sort and color your field in one move

Participant table — sort selected & random marker colors: Two new batch actions in the action dropdown save real time when you're setting up your event.

  • Sort selected reorders your selection by Name (A→Z, Z→A) or BIB (ascending, descending) — only the selected participants move. BIB sorting is numeric-aware: 2 before 10.
  • Random marker colors gives each selected participant a distinct hue. No two repeat, none come out near-white or near-black. Visual separation across a hundred starters, in one click.
